Stray cat resembling Baby Yoda and Dobby finally has a home after 58 million views on TikTok

A stray cat that went viral for resembling the Harry Potter character Dobby and Star Wars’ baby Yoda has finally found a home. The unique features of the homeless animal have clocked close to 60 million views on TikTok.

Strange-looking animals are the biggest amusement to keep social media users hooked. While some are naturally born to look different, such as the ‘Mongoose Lemur Cat’ on TikTok, most others you see on the Internet simply don’t exist. But, that’s not the case with the cat from Indonesia.

Homeless cat looks like baby Yoda and Dobby

On January 4, TikTok user @othersideofuupuuttt posted a video of a cat she found in Garut, Indonesia.

The stray animal quickly went viral owing to its appearance – a typical cat face paired with ears pointing in either direction, parallel to its whiskers. A lot of comments compare it to Dobby or as one described it: “Baby Yoda incarnated.”

The TikTok user told Newsflare: “This is a unique cat that I first found in Indonesia, the shape of its ears is not like other cats, some say it looks like Baby Yoda and some say its ears look like Dobby from Harry Potter.”

She said a lot of people wanted to adopt the cat when it became popular, leaving her sad because she wanted to take care of it. However, the cat was already adopted thanks to the viral video.

Fellow TikTok users were glad that the once-homeless kitty had found a family. No details about its new owner had been revealed.

Cat’s unique appearance doesn’t go unnoticed

With over 58.8 million views on the viral video at the time of writing, dialogues around why the “Dobby Cat” looks the way it does are all over the comments.

It isn’t clear what caused the abnormally shaped ears, but excessive inbreeding is said to contribute to asymmetric features.

Amused by the cat’s appearance, one user said: “Baby Yoda, is that you?”

Another added: “This is giving me such Dobby vibes.”

“I think of it as a Bat Cat,” read a third comment.
