What is the February Theory?

The February Theory claims that you will either fall in love this month, or break up with a partner – and whichever one you do is permanent.

If you fall in love, it could be with a brand new person who you are head over heels for, or an old flame that comes back into your life.

It also says all relationships that begin in February are lasting, so the person you share a romance with this month will be long-term, not just a quick fling.

However, if you break up with someone in February, that will also be forever, so make sure you don’t make any rash decisions.

‘Most important’ month for relationships

In a viral TikTok video, a woman explained the theory using the line: “What happens in February stays in February”.

“If you and your man break up this month, that’s it. It’s a big month for breakups and ending relationships and ending cycles,” she said.

However, it’s also the same “vice versa” – so if you meet somebody new and go on a first date, they’re “most likely sticking around”.

“Let this be your sign. Let February be your month. Get out there. Get on dates. Meet some guys. Break up with that dusty man,” she added.

“February is the most important month of the year.”

TikTok users say it’s true

The theory has gone viral on TikTok this month and loads of people are saying it’s actually true.

One person wrote: “Both my long term relationships ended in February HAHA this is wild.”

“February 12 2021 was the first night I talked to my man. Celebrating three years,” another said.

A third person added: “I got married in February. It didn’t even last a year.”

“OMG THIS IS TRUE. Every breakup I’ve had happened in Feb,” someone else wrote.

Another said: “I met my boyfriend on February 10. We’re going on two years.”
