Three common mistakes causing premature aging that skin expert warns against
Several factors contribute to the premature aging of the skin. But three common habits you indulge in are causing more harm than good, according to a skin expert.
Aside from what you eat and wear on your skin, it’s important to know three overlooked signs of aging and its root cause, which isn’t down to skincare.

‘Skin mistakes’ causing premature aging
Neuroscientist Dr. Robert Love, who previously talked about three drinks that make you look older, collaborates with skin care expert Ben Fuchs to reveal three things women do to their skin that are causing premature aging.
1. Vegetable oils
The skincare expert says that using any kind of vegetable oil – grape seed, carrot, and more – is one of the biggest reasons for premature aging of the skin.

He claims, oils rich in Omega 3 fatty oils “oxidize” quickly and are “extremely unstable to the sun.” Furthermore, the vegetable oil is refined and broken down before it’s included in the beauty product, which makes its quality “degraded.”
2. Chemical sunscreens
While using the right sunscreen is essential for skin health and protection, indulging in chemical sunscreens that aren’t sunblock with a “neutral effect” is doing more harm than good.
Ben and Robert say about forty of them, including Avobenzone, Octocrylene, Homosalate, and others contribute to premature aging of the skin due to the “toxins” present in them.
When asked what one should look for in the right sunscreen, the skin experts responded by saying: “Zin Oxide is the quintessential sun-protecting active ingredient because it’s non-toxic and naturally heals sunburns.”
3. Oral supplement
The experts claim oral supplements are highly beneficial for the skin and those who don’t appreciate that enough tend to suffer from premature aging.
Among several vital supplements such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and Zinc, essential fatty acids are believed crucial for skin health.
In a bonus point at the end of the video, the skin expert claims that not taking care of your digestive system also causes aging of the skin.
