Temporary tattoos are being used on peoples hair as new beauty trend skyrockets

Just when you thought TikTok couldn’t get any weirder, influencers are now putting temporary tattoos on their hair. Why? Because it’s cute, of course!

TikTok is full of helpful experts like the former Royal Marine who recently outlined what a real man is. But for every Marine, there’s a strange TikTok trend that has occupied your mind for months. Just recently, a former inmate gave a step-by-step guide to prison cooking.

Temporary tattoos on hair sounds like a disaster waiting to happen

Though trends like DIY facemasks are very much usable to the average consumer, placing temporary tattoos in your hair is almost the complete opposite. Still, let’s take a look at this new wacky trend courtesy of influencer Kiersay (@Kiersay).

Taking to the video-sharing app earlier this week, Kiersay attempted to put horse temporary tattoos on hair hair. For this to work on you, it seems you need to scrape back your hair into the tightest of tight buns using a wax stick. This creates a semi-flat surface for you to work on.

Kiersay started with a single brown horse, and surprisingly, it applied pretty easily and without fraying or breaking. In a later video, she suggested cutting the tattoo out larger than you need it, as this means your hair has more surface area to grip.

Hold a damp cloth against the temporary tattoo for 20 seconds, then peel it back slowly to see the result. If it’s still not completely stuck, you can reapply the damp cloth for a further 20 seconds.

By the end of the tutorial, Kiersay’s hair was covered in horses in various poses. While she did not reveal how long the transformation took, it’s reasonable to assume that temporary tattooing your hair before work is out of the question.

The cherry on top of this gorgeous trend is the fact that “zero residue or stains” were left on Kiersay’s hair after washing.

People are eager to try the latest beauty trend

Temporary tattooing your hair has seemingly captured the hearts and minds of TikTok, many of which said they were ordering an array of designs in response.

“I literally love when girls do random things it almost always makes the world better like this is so fun,” one person said.

“OMG I need to do this with hello kitty tattoos,” another said, while a third added, “Crazy hair day would be wild with this lol someone tag the mamas.”

Though some social media users argued that the trend would only work on blonde hair, Kiersay theorized that the look could still be achieved with “lighter, metallic, or glow in the dark” tattoos.
