Study suggests men and women should eat different breakfasts to lose weight faster
If losing weight by burning fat is your goal, be mindful of what you eat for breakfast. Men and women don’t achieve the same result when they eat similar foods.
A healthy and nutritious diet fuels your body and mind. While skipping the first meal of the day isn’t advisable for weight loss, what’s included in it matters too.

What men and women should eat to lose weight?
It’s not unusual for couples with similar fitness goals to follow the same diet. But, don’t expect the same numbers on the scale because men and women don’t burn fat equally.
Not only do women store more fat in the body, but they also burn it more effectively than their male counterparts. So, if your boyfriend picks bagels for breakfast, you may want to go for foods rich in healthy fats.
Contrastingly a male body burns carbs more effectively than fat. The study led by researchers at the University of Waterloo used mathematical models to study the impact of different nutrients on men and women.

Anita Layton, a professor of Applied Mathematics and Canada 150 Research Chair in Mathematical Biology and Medicine said: “Since women have more body fat on average than men, you would think that they would burn less fat for energy, but they dont.”
The results of the model suggest that women store more fat immediately after a meal but also burn more fat during a fast,” she added.
Expert reveals ‘ideal breakfast’
If you aren’t looking to shed pounds, and only want to focus on following a healthy diet, a nutritionist has shared with The Focus the “absolute ideal breakfast” for people of any gender.
According to Emily Van Eck, a perfect breakfast includes more than just one item. Whats best for you to eat in the morning depends on several factors such as your schedule, preferences, individual body, andhealth.
A balanced breakfast would include protein, fiber, carbohydrates, and fats and she recommends people a protein-forward balanced breakfast.
While eggs and yogurts are great options for a wholesome breakfast, an “ideal breakfast” according to the expert includes “a small bowl of beans in broth, topped with 1 or 2 eggs (cooked however you want them), 1/4 cup of fermented vegetables such as sauerkraut, and topped with hot sauce.
