State with most KFCs in America also hosts the most hated branch

New research has pinpointed the most and least popular KFCs in America, and you might be surprised to learn that the state with the most branches also boasts the most hated one.

It might now be the world’s second-largest fast food chain, but Colonel Sanders’ dream started during the Great Depression. The first KFC opened in 1952, and there are now more than 30,000 branches across the world. Though fried chicken is obviously at the forefront of their culinary mission, the brand has also released left-field foodie options like the waffle burger and the bizarre Taiwan Kentaco.

California has the most KFCs and the most hated branch

If you’re ever hungry in California, then all you need to do is pop to one of the State’s 469 branches. Just be sure to stay away from one particular branch, a new poll from Fast Company has suggested.

Through their keen research, which highlighted the five best and five worst KFC stores, Fast Company designated the KFC in Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as the worst.

With a staggering score of 1.48 out of 5, the LAX KFC has 286 reviews, most of which are not particularly pleasant.

Very rude people, poor overpriced menu. Avoid it if you can. Messed up the simple order in the limited menu. Just sad. Eating there made me feel sad. I feel sorry for anyone that has to suffer this place,” one review read.

A KFC on 21566 N. John Wayne Pkwy, Maricopa, Arizona, was the second worst spot where customers complained of “rude” staff and “horrible, horrible service.”

The third worst came from Midland, Texas, while the fourth was in Goodyear, Arizona. The fifth worst KFC in America was designated as a branch in Littleton, Colorado, where the “manager gave me the middle finger.”

Where are the best KFCs in America?

On the other end of the scale, presumably where delights like fried cookie dough are served, was a branch in Brazil, Indiana.

The food was hot and ready. The staff was very kind and helpful. The place was packed but we had no waiting to be served. A great addition to our small town. I will be back,” a review said.

A branch in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, was hailed as the second most popular thanks to their pot pies and manager Angie, who was said to be the “nicest person” who runs a really tight ship.

The third best is in West Plains, Missouri, followed by a branch in Harrisburg, Illinois, that was branded as the cleanest KFC in America.

Last, but certainly not least, was a KFC in Madisonville, Tennessee, where the magnetic atmosphere is complemented by perfectly portioned and scalding hot food.
