Starbucks launch Oleato range, with new coffee that includes olive oil

Starbucks is set to launch its olive oil-infused drink, Oleato, following a rather rocky introduction last year.

Starbucks is constantly launching new variations of its staple hits to keep customers interested and hooked on caffeine. While most customers have their signature favorites, Starbucks continues to push the line with unique flavor pairings and new ways to get your fix.

Oleato launches on Tuesday

Tomorrow, all Starbucks stores across the United States will stock Oleato front and center, the coffee house said. The idea for the new drinks range came after CEO Howard Schultz visited Italy and noticed a peculiar coffee habit.

Seeing that Italians sometimes drink their coffee with olive oil, he naturally decided to appropriate the idea and market it to millions.

Oleato, which means with oil in Italian, according to Starbucks, comes in three different forms.

The first variation is a traditional latte, while the second is a golden foam iced shaken espresso with toffee nut. The third, and most exciting drink in the range, is made using their sweet cream infused with Partanna olive oil.

The foam can then be used on drinks including; Iced Chai Tea Latte, Iced Matcha Tea Latte, Dragon Refresher, and the Paradise Refresher.

The Starbucks drinks had a rocky start

Last year, selected Starbucks locations started wheeling out the Oleato range in a sort of test run.

In his lengthy New Yorker review, Gideon Lewis-Kraus said his father-in-law said: Its really very much a lot of oil, and its very persistent, and very strong.

Its nasty! Dont drink it, someone said on X, formally Twitter, as someone else proclaimed, Absolutely not.

In contrast, someone who tried the golden foam drink wrote in Delish: There’s no olive oil in the drink apart from foam on top, so if you’re skeptical of Oleato, you should order this first.
