Sommer Ray says she will practice celibacy until marriage, and doesn’t care what doubters say

Fitness icon and social media star Sommer Ray has assured her future dating partners that they must be in it for the long run if they are to stand any chance of making things work with her, after claiming that celibacy is the new way forward.
Sommer Ray says celibacy is in for 2024
Ray is one of the internet’s leading fitness influencers, boasting an enormous following of over 36 million combined across Instagram and TikTok.
The model-turned-DJ extraordinaire now appears to be dishing out lifestyle advice, after letting her fans in on a secret about her love life.
Taking to Twitter on January 5, Ray wrote: “ive fallen in love with celibacy so if you wanna date me, were waiting till marriage”.
The post, which has been viewed over 1.6 million times at the time of writing, was assumed to be a joke by many, but it appears that the 27-year-old was deadly serious.

Ray hits back at detractors
Within hours of posting her life update, Ray was met by a hoard of detractors making a range of claims about her celibacy status, casting doubt over the sincerity of her post and making misogynistic claims about her past relationships.
Ray was quick to hit back at those in her replies, however, writing in a follow-up tweet: “to anyone being annoying in the comments about my body count.. I actually have a very, very very low body count and only have slept with guys Ive been in a serious relationship with.
“Ive never had a one night stand & have always had a 3 month rule Thank you very much”, Ray continued.
Fitness star has discussed her ‘3 month rule’ in the past
The ‘3 month rule’ in question is a personal dating policy put in place by Ray, which she has discussed on her TikTok account in the past.
Explaining the function of her rule back in September, Ray shared how she only gives “her body and her energy” to people that she loves, and has no interest in seeing people casually.
As a result, she refuses to engage with partners physically until she has been seeing them for at least three months.
Ray believes that people will often put on a fake personality when trying to impress potential partners, but after three months it can be difficult to keep up such a “facade”.
Previously, Ray would only proceed to sleep with people when she was satisfied that they had shown themselves to be genuine over a quarter-year period, although it would appear that the influencer will now be waiting until marriage before she takes that step with anybody.
