Self-aware egotist swears one question always exposes a narcissist

Any kind of relationship with a narcissist is riddled with challenges. You couldn’t be prepared enough to respond to the tactics they use, let alone recognize them.

People with this mental condition function the same way – they say the same things, their actions are similar and always expose their true selves by answering just one question, says a self-aware narcissist.

One question that always exposes a narcissist

People with Narcissistic Personality Disorder are grandiose, egotistic, and lack empathy among several other traits. They are so entitled that they think the world revolves around them and would have mastered the art to suck you back into a relationship with them so they don’t run out of supplies.

There are different types of narcissists – covert, overt, borderline, and more. “Self-aware narcissist” Bat Wolf on TikTok claims in one of his videos that a question about success is all it takes to find out if you’re dealing with someone with a problematic personality type.

The question to ask them: “How successful have you been in your life?” Here’s how each type of narcissist would typically respond.

Overt Narcissist

If you’re dealing with an overt narcissist, they’ll respond to the question by singing praises of everything they’ve done, as if only their achievements matter.

They will go on and on about their successful life, both professionally and personally.

Covert Narcissist

A covert narcissist could be as vocal about their achievements as the overt type. They will still talk about all the successes they’ve had in their life, but not without mentioning the failures.

“They are going to tell you about their failures too. But they aren’t telling you about their failures. They are going to tell you how everybody let them down and caused them to fail,” the TikTok user explains. Convert narcissists always think it’s somebody else’s fault.

Borderline Narcissist

Whereas, a borderline narcissist will tell you all the things an overt and covert narcissist would say – successes and failures.

The only difference with a borderline narcissist is that “they blame themselves for everything” because they internalize their emotions. But when they cannot deal with the shame and pain from being critical of themselves, they turn on their “NPD defenses” and blow up on others.

The Bat Wolf is a self-aware narcissist, working towards bringing more awareness to the mental condition. He boasts over 620,000 followers on TikTok.
