Samsung’s new phone features an AI tool that will help cross any language barrier
Samsung has announced the latest version of its signature smartphone, the Galaxy S24, and its set to hit stores with a raft of helpful AI tools including several language-interpreting features that frequent travelers could find essential.
Real-time call translations
While on vacation in another country where youre not an expert in the language, its entirely possible that you could find yourself needing to book a restaurant or call for help in an emergency over the phone.
As reported by Mashable, the new Samsung Galaxy AI includes real-time voice translation that will help to interpret phone calls you make to a person in another language with an AI chatbot translating both your words and the response of the person on the other end.
On top of that, the technology will reportedly remember the language your contacts speak so there will be no need to keep changing the language settings every time you need to make a call.
Interpreter
If you find yourself having trouble communicating with someone, whether thats asking for directions or speaking to a cashier, Galaxy AIs interpreter function helps to translate the conversation for both parties.
You can either speak into your phone or type in a message for the AI tool to instantly interpret and help you through the conversation.
It should be noted that similar functions are available through other translation services. For example, Apples Translate app works in much the same way.
Chat Assist
The Samsung Galaxy AI also helps to translate other languages while texting through its Chat Assist function.
Perfect for if you have friends or family who speak different languages, this tool allows you to text in your native language and have the AI translate it directly, without needing to go through a third-party app to do so.
Following its reveal earlier this month, the Samsung Galaxy S24 will be released on January 31, 2024.
