Rich women thought 6 things were normal’ while growing up with money

A woman who grew up in a life of privilege has revealed the things she thought were “normal” for most other kids when in reality, it was simply the life money had afforded her.

People on the internet might constantly be droning on about capitalism being the devil, but there is no denying that your quality is life is heavily impacted by your financial situation. No amount of loud budgeting seems to make your paycheck last longer, and don’t even get us started on the price of a Big Mac.

TikTok is full of interesting people with their own unique perspectives on this crazy thing we call life, from the psychopath woman opening up about her experiences to the woman listing reasons why you shouldn’t have kids.

Chloe (@chloeabeth) is a self-proclaimed “stay-at-home daughter” with 40k Instagram followers and nearly 700k TikTok followers. She usually posts content around her lavish life.

In a recent clip, the rich kid opened up about the aspects of her childhood that she thought were “normal” at the time. In later life, she realized the opposite.

For instance, as a kid Chloe didn’t think that her parents worked and would often tell people they didn’t have jobs. In reality, they were so well-off their jobs were not typical nine-to-fives.

“For my birthday, my grandparents gave me a Cartier watch and I wore it every day, every day, to school,” she added, claiming that her Viola teacher noted how “one daughter wears a Cartier watch and the other a Rolex.”

For her 16th Birthday, when most of us might have received one sparkly coming-of-age present, Chloe received a “crazy” amount of Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry. For those of you unaware, one bracelet typically sells for $4.5k.

“I lowkey wish I had a YouTube channel at 16 or my TikTok, because my 16th Birthday haul would have been so iconic,” she added.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise but Chloe also admitted to never having worked, something many of us could not begin to relate to.

Her parents took incentivizing to the extreme

In a world of gentle parenting, we frequently hear that it’s important to incentivize your kids with material things and/or positive reinforcement. Chloe’s parents might have taken it too far.

When she graduated with her piano diploma she received a Van Cleef bracelet and got a “bonus” for graduating top of her class.

Despite the showy display of wealth, Chloe’s video was well-received as people celebrated her ability to admit her privilege.

“I love it when wealthy people admit to themselves that they are rich rich,” one person said, as another echoed, “You see how she’s very humble? Very demure, very cutesy, very mindful.”
