Dunkin unleashed their energy drinks on Wednesday

Amongst the normal food options, fans of the brand noticed two SPARKD energy drinks, one being Berry Burst with raspberry and strawberry and the other Peach Sunshine with added lychee.

Beth Turenne, Dunkins Vice President of Category Management, said: With the introduction of SPARKD Energy by Dunkin, we set out to create a deliciously unique option for our guests. Its not just another energy drink; its a totally new way to run on Dunkin, incorporating the flavors that we know our fans enjoy.

Reviews leave little to the imagination

Though official reviews seem to be utterly abysmal, users on TikTok and Instagram are reporting that it does the job. That job being give you energy. In a Facebook review, one user found himself packed full of energy after downing the drink with passion.

“The Dunkin I regularly go to just handed me a sample of their new energy drink today. I have been like six weeks clean off Red Bulls and I didnt want to be rude so I downed it and now its 7 am and Im feeling like I have to mop the ocean,” he wrote. “This is not an ad, but if thats your thing go try it.

I was hesitant bc I hate sparkling water most of the times but it was actually good! I liked it! Its not too sweet and not too sour! 7.5/10! someone wrote on TikTok, to which another person tagged a mate and replied, I tried this today and its so good you’d probably like.

Similarly, in her review for Delish, Allison Arnold wrote: This one hit me hard with its tangy, slightly sour flavor that left a syrupy artificial aftertaste in my mouth. I have to admit I’ve never really drank many energy drinks before, and this is pretty much what I thought it would be: sweet and syrupy.

The bad, and the ugly

But not everyone is a fan, as evident by The Southern Snacks review on his popular foodie YouTube page. He absolutely destroyed the two energy drink options despite being fairly receptive to the rest of the Spring Dunkin additions.

Yeah thats way too artificial, way to much like Seltzer. Dunkins menu introduced a new refresher and I really enjoyed it, I was shocked by it. This is just not it, he said. Between one and five, its bad enough for me to say its a one.

On the peach version, he added: I didnt know how you could get any worse from what we just had. I might have to bump the other one up to a two.”

Similarly, on TikTok, another person scathed: “Would rather have a Red Bull. Srsly, don’t subject yourself to it.”
