Price of McDonald’s Double Big Mac varies considerably by location
The Double Big Mac has returned to McDonald’s across the US after four years, but its price depends on your location.
It was briefly added to the menu back in March 2020 before the pandemic forced the chain to remove it. Now, the burger is finally back!

Double Big Mac arrives at McDonald’s
“Say hello to theDouble Big Mac, available at participating McDonalds restaurants nationwide for a limited time,” the fast food chain said in a press release.
The burger is “double the fun” with four stacked 100% all-beef patties and more of their iconic Big Mac sauce.
Its topped with pickles, crisp shredded lettuce, finely chopped onions and a slice of American cheese, just like the normal burger.

However, there isn’t double the amount of bread. All of that is sandwiched between three pieces of sesame seed bun just like usual.
We asked McDonald’s to confirm how long the burger will be on the menu and they refused to clarify, telling The Focus: “The Double Big Mac will be available for a limited time only.”
Price of McDonald’s Double Big Mac varies
The price of the Double Big Mac is decided by each individual location and varies significantly, a McDonalds USA spokesperson told Today.
A look at the order online menu in various locations reveals that a Double Big Mac Meal ranges from around $11 to $17.
In most locations, it’s only a few dollars more than a normal Big Mac, and you get two whole extra beef patties.
At a store in Louisiana, a Double Big Mac meal is $13.79, while a normal Big Mac meal is $11.51. Both of them include fries and a drink.
In Delaware, prices are pretty similar at $12.79 for a Double Big Mac meal and $11.39 for a normal-sized one.
However, a restaurant in central New York is selling the Double Big Mac Meal for a whopping $17.48, while a regular one is $13.79.
More McDonald’s burger changes
In 2023, McDonald’s announced they were making changes to their burgers which would be available nationally by the start of 2024. This includes making their buns softer, cheese meltier, adding more sauce to the Big Macs and putting white onions on the patties while they are still on the grill.
“Ill always remember my first burger from McDonalds. And now my culinary team and I have the best job in the world: thinking about ways to bring even more of that iconic McDonalds taste to fans,” chef Chad Schafer, Senior Director of Culinary Innovation at McDonalds USA, said in a statement.
“We found that small changes, like tweaking our process to get hotter, meltier cheese and adjusting our grill settings for a better sear, added up to a big difference in making our burgers more flavorful than ever.”
These small but tasty improvements apply to the Big Mac, McDouble and classic Cheeseburger, Double Cheeseburger and Hamburger.
