Popeyes’ Big Box returns for limited time with high price tag
Popeyes’ much-loved Big Box is back for three weeks, but people aren’t very happy about the high price tag.
The popular promotion includes chicken with a choice of sides and is a firm favorite amongst fast food fans.
Popeyes’ Big Box returns
The Big Box is available at Popeyes right now until Sunday, February 11 at participating locations across the US.
A message on the app says: “The best deal in town is back. Grab 2Pc Signature Chicken, 2 Regular Sides, and a biscuit.”
The combo meal returns every year and includes two pieces of their famous chicken with fries, coleslaw, mashed potatoes or rice.
However, this time it’s only available to redeem exclusively through the Popeyes app or on Popeyes.com for pick up.
High price irks customers
Popeyes fans are delighted that the meal is back, but are outraged that the chain has increased the price.
It costs a whopping $6.99, which is actually the same as 2023. However, the meal only cost $6 back in 2022.
Before that, it was just $5, and Popeyes fans aren’t happy that the price of the Big Box keeps on ramping up.
One person wrote on Reddit: “Helllllll naw this was $5 pre COVID, $6 post shutdown, and now $7 with no drink. Popeyes you stingy people.”
“Hey yall! The big box is back at Popeyes, but its $7 now. Damn inflation!” another said on Twitter/X.
A third person added: “The big box back at Popeyes but its 7 whole dollars now. We used to be a proper country.”
How to order the Big Box
To order one, go to the deal on the Popeyes website here and click ‘add to mobile order’. Then, pay and collect from your local store. You can also order through the Popeyes app.
The offer is not valid for delivery and can only be used once per order. It can not be combined with any other offers, discounts or coupons either.
No substitutions are allowed and upcharges apply for Homestyle Mac & Cheese and Chicken Breast.
Popeyes is also currently offering free 6Pc Wings with any purchase “if a team with wings wins the big game” too.
It’s valid with any online or in-app purchase if an eligible team wins the Super Bowl in Nevada on February 11. Eligible teams include Philadelphia, Baltimore and Buffalo.
