Polar bear ‘peer pressured’ into diving in pool as kids chant ‘jump jump jump’
A video of a polar bear jumping into a pool has gone viral as it looks like the animal is listening to what a group of kids are chanting.
The brilliant clip was shared on TikTok by The Toledo Zoo earlier this week, a zoo and aquarium in Ohio, and has had almost 10 million views.

Polar bear jumps into pool as kids chant
In the short viral video, a polar bear cub is standing on top of a rock in its enclosure at the Toledo animal park.
The bear is wobbling as though it’s about to jump into the pool below but can’t decide whether it wants to take the leap.
A group of kids are watching the animal through some glass and loudly chanting the words “jump jump jump”.
After a little while, the polar bear seemingly does as it’s told and dives down into the pool with a huge splash.
You can hear all of the kids scream a happy “yay” in the background as the bear swims right up next to the glass.
“Give him his 10s!!! The Polar bear cubs were paws-itively prepared to plunge into 2024,” the zoo wrote in the caption.
‘He knew what the people wanted’
In the comments, TikTok users are joking that the bear listened to the kids – but in reality the jump was just a big coincidence.
One person wrote: “He was like ‘Well since everyone is asking’.”
“Did they just peer pressure a bear?” another joked.
A third person added: “He knew what the people wanted and delivered.”
“I think that’s what you call a polar plunge,” someone else commented.
Others are joking that the polar bear is a reincarnated frat boy jumping off the roof of his house into a pool – a common college practice.
Someone said: “In another life, that bear was on the rood of a house at a frat party.”
“This made me believe in reincarnation cause no way this isn’t a frat guy,” another agreed.
