Place a GoPro inside a dishwasher and you get the most satisfying clips on TikTok
Curious social media users are using GoPro cameras to find out exactly what the dishwasher gets up to when it thinks nobody is watching.
We’ve all wondered what actually goes on in there at some point. And while it remains ill-advised to jump inside your dishwasher and get clean alongside your plates and cutlery for an hour and a half, you can now envision exactly what that would feel like, thanks to some helpful TikTok users willing to risk their GoPro cameras for the cause.
TikTok users are putting GoPro cameras in dishwashers
Just like that brief moment when you close the fridge door and try to peer inside as the light turns off, the dishwasher is one of the great kitchen mysteries.
While most people have some idea of how it works, nobody really knows *exactly* how the contraption cleans your dishes. Well, until people started putting cameras inside their dishwashers, that is.
Thanks to a niche trend on social media, viewers are being treated to the bizarre sensation of watching time-lapses of dishwashers doing their thing – and the results are oddly satisfying:
It turns out people know less about dishwashers than they thought
While it may sound somewhat odd on paper, GoPro dishwasher videos do pretty well in terms of views, and are proving to be quite popular online.
And most people’s main takeaway from watching them is that they had little to no clue about how the contraptions worked before these videos began popping up on their timelines.
“I really thought the whole thing fills up with water” commented one user beneath a popular dishwasher video, echoing a common misconception that had also tripped up many other viewers.
Reflecting on the fact they found themselves watching dishwasher content, one user solemnly added: “people are getting married, starting families, buying houses and there is me watching the inside of a dishwasher at 3 am”.
Someone bought a dishwasher just to put a GoPro in it
Going to extreme lengths to inspect the inner workings of the technology, one dedicated and curious mind decided to buy a dishwasher with the specific goal of filming what was inside it.
Though he was mocked in the comment section for doing so, Warped Perception’s footage proved to be rather illuminating, and racked up over seven million views:
We don’t recommend trying this at home in any capacity, but if you do – please make sure that your camera is waterproof or is covered sufficiently, at the very least.
