There’s a shake up underway at Peloton as this year sees some of their favourite instructors part ways with the company – Daniel McKenna has been confirmed as the next instructor to depart.
Sadly for Peloton members, the Irish Yank is parting ways with Peloton as has been confirmed by the fitness company.
As of yet, Daniel McKenna has yet to comment on any cause for departure. Quick to make an impression, the Tread and Strength instructor was a fan-favourite among Peloton members having been announced as an instructor only in August 2021. McKenna even gained his own fan club called ‘the Irish Yanks’ who have a social media following in the thousands.
Peloton confirm Daniel McKenna is ‘no longer’ an instructor
Daniel McKenna has been noticeably absent on Peloton and social media from mid-September 2022. His last live class was on September 11 and had a pre-recorded run drop made available on demand on September 16.
His departure was ultimately confirmed by the company on October 3, 2022. Peloton posted a short statement to their Facebook account.
“Daniel McKenna is no longer a Peloton instructor. His classes will remain in our library for Members to enjoy. We wish Daniel all the best in his next chapter,” the statement read.
The Focus have reached out to Peloton for comment on Daniel McKenna’s departure.
Peloton removes Daniel McKenna’s profile from their website
It would seem that his departure has been finalised as Daniel McKenna’s profile has been removed from the Peloton website. Prior to releasing the statement, McKenna’s profile remained on the website.
It is not redirected to a “page not found.”
While Daniel McKenna’s classes remain in the Peloton library for now, it does not appear that McKenna will have any kind of send off class to mark his departure.
Daniel is the second Peloton instructor to leave this year
Instructor turnover at Peloton is relatively low, but Daniel McKenna is already the second instructor to leave the fitness company this year.
Back in March 2022, Chase Tucker announced that he was leaving Peloton to start his own leadership coaching business. This business, 11X Leader Accelerator, takes the form of a 12-Week group coaching program for entrepreneurs and leaders.
Last year saw two more Peloton instructors leave the fold. Irene Scholz left in May 2021, with Marina Andresen leaving in December that year. Marina had only joined Peloton in September 2021, spending four short months with the company. But her impact remains, as you can still access Marina’s classes in the on demand library. Chase and Irene’s videos are also available to this date, so Daniel McKenna’s are expected to stay on demand.
