Peloton instructor ridicules Tenet as the film’s award-winning director is in the middle of her class

Film criticism has found its way into almost every walk of life as social media has allowed fans to offer their own opinions on the latest movies like never before but acclaimed director Christopher Nolan has recently revealed that his movie Tenet was on the receiving end of some particularly scathing criticism while he was taking a Peloton class.

Peloton instructor ridicules Tenet

While giving an acceptance speech after being awarded best director for his latest film Oppenheimer by the New York Film Critics Circle on January 4, Christopher Nolan explained the most unexpected piece of film criticism hes ever received.

I was on my Peloton. Im dying. And the instructor started talking about one of my films [Tenet] and said, Has anyone else seen this? Because thats a couple hours of my life Ill never get back again!’ Nolan said. When [film critic] Rex Reed takes a s*** on your film he doesnt ask you to work out more with him.

Unsurprisingly, social media users have been quick to find the Peloton class in question which sees instructor Jenn Sherman heavily criticizing the movie, saying: I need a manual, someones gotta explain this. Im not kidding

Do you understand? she asked the audience at home. Seriously, you need to be a neuroscientist to understand and thats two and a half hours of my life that I want back. I want it back.

Instructor has different Oppenheimer opinion

The fact that Christopher Nolan was taking part in the very class that Jenn Sherman was leading quickly reached the Peloton instructor herself.

Reacting in a post on Instagram, Sherman said: Huge day for me when I come to find out that the one and only Christopher Nolan, one of the leading filmmakers of the 21st century, knows who the hell I am. I was excited& and then I read the article.

Listen, it was 2020, it was dark time. Im up on the platform, teaching my little class and Im running my mouth off like Im known to do and I make a random comment about a movie I had seen the night before, she explained. What do you think the odds are that the director of said movie would take that ride some four years later? Yeah, that would only happen to me.

I may not have understood a minute of what the hell was going on in Tenet, that s*** when right over my head, she added. But I have seen Oppenheimer twice and thats six hours of my life I dont ever want to give back.

So, Mr Nolan I am inviting you to come and take a ride with me in the Peloton studio, you can critique my class, well have a great time, youll sit in the front row and I promise you, itll be insult-free. Let me know, take me up on it, she said to end the video.

Well, a potential Christopher Nolan collaboration with a Peloton instructor was certainly not on our 2024 bingo card.
