Parents cant stop laughing as pet cat turns up to its own funeral

Parents experienced their worst fears recently as they held a funeral of their pet cat that made a surprise appearance during the memory-sharing portion of the sullen event.

There is no shame in not owning a pet, after all, they are a huge amount of responsibility. Arguably the hardest part is finally saying goodbye, with no amount of good gestures from vets making it better.

Dillon Michael White (@dadchats) and his wife Suzanne White experienced a parent’s worst nightmare this week as they laid their aging kitty to rest. Unfortunately, it wasn’t actually dead.

“Never have a funeral for a pet unless you’re certain that they’ve passed,” the mom told their followers. “Here’s what happened in our house today.”

Their cat, whose name is Kitty, seemingly went missing in the later hours of the day. The husband and wife searched for hours, through cupboards, in every room, and even playing the sound of a can opening from their car speakers. Still, no Kitty was found by 3 am.

After three hours of sleep and borrowing their neighbor’s thermal camera, Dillon and Suzanne continued to search for Kitty.

When their kids began to ask questions, they did what most parents do in these situations, they lied. Rather than reveal the truth, they said that Kitty was at the vet where she was very ill and very cold. She would probably not be coming home.

Naturally, they held a funeral for their fallen friend complete with love heart waffles, which she allegedly enjoyed. During the memory-sharing portion of the event, Dillon heard the all too familiar meow of his feline.

“Is this the voice from above?” he questioned. “Again, I hear meow and think it’s coming from the garage.”

Despite checking the garage six times, upon opening the door “Kitty bolted into her own funeral”, much to the family’s surprise. Their five-year-old stood on the chair exclaiming “Miracle” and “She’s saved.”

Their experience goes to show that you should always be certain of death before arranging their funeral.

Mispronouncing your pet as dead is a common experience

Unlike the recent mother who chose to put her animal down, most pet owners dread the day it comes. Funnily enough, many TikTok users confessed to having similar experiences to Dillon and Suzanne.

One person revealed: “[Son] Comes in carrying the box we buried the lizard in. [Husband] had no idea. My son dug it up to show him the dead lizard only to find an empty box. That lizard faked his death to get out of our house.”

“We once buried our cat who got hit by a car. The kids were devastated. Two days later our cat showed up. We still dont know who we buried,” another said.

A third wrote: “Omg. we had a calico cat and she slipped out. my daughter found a calico cat dead not far from our house. we had a wonderful funeral for her. it wasn’t our cat. our cat was in a dresser drawer napping.”
