One daily routine helps women escape common stresses of life, study reveals

Humans are consumed by the endless pursuit of things, and finding ‘me time’ in our busy lives is almost impossible. But, a recent study shows that the majority of women count on a common daily routine for mental peace and their overall well-being.

Men have their own battles to fight, but women are bogged down by factors that are beyond our control, such as erratic mood swings and cramps during periods among other things. When life becomes overwhelming, perhaps you could try what most females do to relax.

Most women find showers to be very relaxing

A study conducted by OnePoll in partnership with OLAY recently interviewed 1000 women to find out when and how they make time for themselves and more than half of them, about 52% of the respondents said it’s while they are in the shower.

Women like to hit the shower when they need to process aspects concerning their professional and personal lives.

Furthermore, 78% of them elevate their shower routine by including their favorite music and aroma, followed by a relaxing massage with lotions or other beauty products.

This practice is more common among women than you would imagine, no wonder ‘everything shower’ has grown to become so popular.

The study reveals that about 60% of women “let their random thoughts roam” during shower, while about 44% reflect on the past day and the day ahead.

About 42% of them look back at memories and one in six female respondents said they “imagined themselves as the triumphant winner of a past argument while in the shower.”

It makes them feel good inside out

Shower helps women feel more than just relaxed – they step out of it feeling more confident and energized.

Two in three respondents, that’s about 68% of women said they feel as if they can “do anything” after a great shower and the feeling lasts for more than four hours.

While 52% of them said they felt energized, 78% felt relaxed, 45% of them said they felt beautiful and about 30% described themselves as “glowing.”

The spokesperson for Olay and principal scientist, Dr.Maiysha Jones said, women treat showers like an “escape” and not just a cleaning routine.

When a great shower makes your skin glow or helps you achieve healthy-looking skin, it naturally adds to your confidence and overall well-being.

This proves to be true in real life. About 51% of respondents said they felt more confident in a job interview after a good shower, while 65% of them had fewer jitters on a date if it was followed by a relaxing bath.

However, every shower can’t be a “great” one, and not always do women feel the same way after finishing it.

“Out of the average six showers a week, women surveyed say only four meet the benchmark for a ‘great shower'”, the study notes.
