NYC influencer slammed as her best tip’ for finding love sounds more like ‘mass stalking’

A New York City influencer has shared her best tip for finding love online, but readers claim it sounds more like mass stalking.

A survey by Singles Reports found that almost 80% of people looking for love are experiencing fatigue and emotional burnout from online dating. While social media influencers are constantly looking for ways to advise fans on how they, too, can find romance online, its safe to say that some advice goes down better than others.

NYC influencer shares best dating tip for new places

Coco Schiffer is a talent manager and virtual stylist who recently gained almost 120,000 views from a TikTok video going over her best dating tips and advice for finding love in new places.

According to the young influencer, the secret to finding romantic partners is as simple as a click of a button, or rather repeatedly clicking that same button over and over again.

Do yall want to know the best dating hack ever? Best dating tip? Best way to get dates? Follow them.

Schiffer explained that she was eager to make new connections when she moved from LA to New York City as friends suggested people to meet: Instead of just waiting for them to make the introduction, I was like, Whats their Instagram? Let me just follow them.”

She describes going on a following spree upon arriving in the Big Apple, I was just jamming that follow button on Instagram all day long, all these strangers that I didnt really know.

I cannot tell you how many dates, new friends I have made from just putting myself out there like that. It feels so risky for some reason. But, yall, just follow them&Yall will watch each others st for a couple weeks. Eventually & theyll reach out, theyll respond to a story.

The New Yorker shared how Ive met my incredible, better than ever, best thing thats ever happened to me boyfriend that way.

The saga is, yall need to follow them, OK? Mark my words. It works every time. Best dating tip ever. Let me know how it goes.

In the comments section of the video, her followers unsurprisingly praised the advice with users celebrating, Needed this advice, YES TELL US, Thanks Im going to try this, and Thank U queen needed this.

Readers argue that her ‘hack’ for finding love is just mass stalking

Almost every single post on social media about dating or relationships is met with some level of skepticism and the number of people you follow on social media always comes down to personal choice.

While the comments on the TikTok video itself are generally positive, the same cant be said for reactions outside of the platform especially in response to a New York Post article on said dating hack.

One user shared their take on the dating advice: So basically, stalk hundreds of people online in the hopes that you’ll make a connection with one of them. Yeah, that’s normal.

Tapping the follow button is considered whats bold these days??, With this type of high quality advice& We are doomed as a species, and This doesnt make any sense were all amongst the top rated comments.

Readers also pointed to the fact that mass following as dating advice works especially well when your career and/or revenue stream is linked to how many followers you have.

I wonder who benefits most from more followers said one user, with another adding Of course it worked for her since her social media account was filled with beauty, travel, luxury, influencer stuff.

She’s a talent manager, virtual stylist and moved from LA to New York. Do you think a girl who bakes cakes for a living and moved from Ohio to a podunk town in Pennsylvania could find love with this hack. Asking for a friend.
