New phone boasts week-long battery life but it comes with one massive downfall
Having a phone battery that can barely last a whole day is a frustrating struggle of modern life but a newly unveiled phone, the Energizer Hard Case P28K, could change all that with a battery that can last a week without being charged.
We all know the fear of having your phone battery running out of juice while out and about or when scrolling social media. Its no surprise then that 95% of phone users cite longer battery life as the biggest desired feature when looking for a new phone.
Meet the Energizer Hard Case P28K
Unveiled at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2024 in Barcelona, the Hard Case P28K is the newest phone from Avenir Telecom which will be sold under the Energizer brand – yes, the same Energizer that manufactures batteries.
The phones biggest selling point is its behemoth of a battery which boasts 28,000mAh (milliampere hours) which means the device can last a week without needing to be charged through general use.
On top of that, the battery offers a whopping 122 hours of talk time and a gargantuan 94 days of standby time if youre not using it regularly.
According to Avenir, the P28K comes with a 36W charger and the phone can be fully charged in around one hour and 30 minutes.
However, while the phone boasts an incredible battery life, the rest of its technical specifications are a little behind the latest devices from the likes of Apple and Samsung. It lacks 5G capability and also has 8GM of RAM, 256GB of storage, three rear cameras, a 6.78-inch 1080p LCD display and runs the Android 14 operating system.
Following its unveiling at MWC in February, the Energizer Hard Case P28K will be going on sale in October 2024 and will be priced at 249.99 (around $270 USD).

How it compares to the latest iPhone
In order to achieve its huge battery life, the P28K has the trade-off of being an incredibly large and heavy phone.
While its screen size of 6.78 inches is only slightly larger than that of the iPhone 15 Plus (6.7 inches), the P28K is much thicker and far heavier.
According to its technical specifications, the iPhone 15 Plus weighs 201g (7.09 oz) while the P28K weighs more than double at a hefty 570g (20.1 oz).
On top of that, the iPhone is just 7.8mm thick while the P28K is more than three times thicker at 27.8mm.
In terms of battery life, the P28K boasts its gargantuan 28,000mAh while the iPhone 15 Plus has just 4407mAh in comparison, meaning the P28K has more than six times the battery life.
