Mother finds out shes having triplets for the very first time, her reaction is priceless

A soon-to-be mum shared the shocking moment she discovered she would be welcoming triplets into the world.

It is estimated that around 385,000 babies are born daily, most of them being single-baby births. However, there are instances where mothers give birth to more than one baby, with the most common being twins every 83 pregnancies. This is followed by triplets every 1 in 6,889 pregnancies, Quadruplets 1 in 571,787 pregnancies, and Quintuplets 1 in 47,458,321 pregnancies.

The moment truly shocked the mother

Upcoming mom Kayla Marie Carrillo (@kaylamariecarrill) posted a video on Monday that has since amassed over 16 million views and 1.7 million likes. In the clip, she could be seen led down on a hospital bed as a medical professional completed an ultrasound scan.

“Have we scanned you before? Is this a natural cycle? It’s fine, we just see three babies,” the experts revealed, earning an instant shocked expression from the soon-to-be mum.

Kayla proceeded to say “what” about six times before she covered her face and began to panic, earning a “calm down” from the doctor.

Though rare, multiple births are something doctors train extensively to perform. As reported by Pregnancy, Birth, and Baby, the births are rarely done vaginally and are usually performed using Cesarean section. Most triplets spend some time in the neonatal intensive care unit following their birth.

The triplet announcement divided social media

Though the heartwarming debate perfectly illustrated the miracle of life, most of Kayla’s TikTok users heavily debated whether telling a pregnant woman to “calm down” is morally right.

One person wrote: “Saying ‘calm down’ immediately after I find out Im having triplets would send me into an episode.”

Someone else countered: “Unpopular opinion here but I think the calm down – sends a message of it’s okay, it happens all the time, you’re going to be okay. Hearing it from a doctor would make me more comfy, STILL SHOCKED but.”

“Am I the only one that didnt take the calm down in a condescending way? it seemed reassuring to me, it just sounded like she could sense the panic and wanted to reassure her,” someone else wrote.
