Who is Moncef Slaoui’s wife? Is he married? The former head of Operation Warp Speed under Donald Trump has been in the news recently due to accusations of harassment. He’s since issued a public apology and was ousted as the chairman of a Glaxosmithkline-backed company.

Who is Moncef Slaoui’s wife?

Dr Moncef Slaoui is married to Kristen Belmonte. Slaoui and his wife have three sons together and have been married since 2011.

Dr Slaoui’s wife, Kristen Belmonte, was born in July 1970, making her 50 years of age at the time of writing. She graduated from Gettysburg College, where she majored in biology and classical studies. Belmonte later attained a PhD from The John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

She is well known for her work as a health officer and worked alongside her husband at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), where she is currently vice president. Belmonte’s work with the company started with a role in the research lab.

She has been highly successful in her career and, according to Information cradle, holds “multiple patents. She has authored more than 40 original peer-reviewed publications.”

So, besides being Dr Moncef Slaoui’s wife, Belmonte is successful in her own right. Her net worth is estimated around $100,000 as of this year.

Who is Dr. Moncef Slaoui?

Dr Slaoui is an American-Belgian-Morrocan researcher. He graduated from Université Libre de Bruxelles with a bachelor’s and master’s in biology. He then went on to obtain a PhD from the Free University of Brussels, in molecular biology and immunology.

Dr. Slaoui spent most of his career working for GSK – a career that started in 1988 with him as a vaccine researcher for the pharma giant. He left his role at GSK on 30 June 2017 and later that year joined Medicxi.

However, Slaoui remained as chairman with GSK due to his work on the bioelectronic medicine unit.

Mid-2020, then-President Trump announced Dr Slaoui would begin work on Operation Warp Speed, to create a vaccine for the novel coronavirus.

Dr Slaoui issues public apology

Recently, allegations of sexual misconduct in the workplace were made against Dr Slaoui. GSK reportedly received a letter about the researcher’s alleged behaviour towards a co-worker years ago, when Dr Slaoui was still a full-time employee there.

Following these allegations, Moncef Slaoui was forced to resign from his role. The chief executive of GSK issued a statement labelling his behaviour as “wholly unacceptable”.

She went on to say: “I want to be clear that sexual harassment is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. Abuse of leadership position, in any form, will not be tolerated.”

Dr Moncef Slaoui’s wife has not issued a statement on the situation at the time of writing.
