Mitch McConnell, 79, is the United States Senator for Kentucky. He is originally from Sheffield, Alabama.
While much of the news on McConnell is in relation to his role in public office, oftentimes his personal life is under scrutiny. Some online have turned their attention to one of Mitch McConnell’s daughters and an article allegedly written about her in 2003.
Mitch McConnell’s daughters
Mitch McConnell has three daughters. He shares all three children with his first wife, Sherrill Redmon (m. 1968–1980).
McConnell’s eldest daughter is Eleanor, or “Elly,” born 1972. Claire is the second child, born 1976. Finally, Porter McConnell was born in 1979.
In 1993, Mitch McConnell remarried Elaine Chao. The couple have no children together.
Was Claire McConnell a teacher?
Mitch McConnell has never spoken about his daughter’s career, although news sites from 2003 confirm that Mitch McConnell’s daughter was a teacher.
Claire McConnell was reportedly a teacher at the Hawthorne Valley School, a Waldorf school in New York.
It is unknown if Claire is still teaching.
There is a Twitter account under the name Claire McConnell who claims to be an Assistant Nursery Teacher at Waldorf School of Philadelphia in her bio. The account does not appear to be active, only engaging in retweets. It is unconfirmed if this is the same Claire McConnell as Mitch’s daughter, although her website’s ‘About Me’ page states she also worked at Hawthorne Valley School.
