McDonald’s launches epic anime bags designed by Japanese manga artist

McDonald’s has just unveiled an amazing anime promotion, and the comic strip-style bag is one of the best parts.

The fast food chain has teamed up with Japanese animation company Studio Pierrot and created its own anime universe.

Epic McDonald’s anime bag

Starting on February 26, McDonald’s turns into its anime alter-ego “WcDonald’s” and launches a new sauce, manga-inspired packaging, episodic shorts and so much more.

The collaboration re-vamps the normal brown bags that your food comes in, covering them in anime cartoons for a limited time.

It features the new WcDonald’s Crew characters including Hashirune,�a WcDonald’s regular, Mr. Bev, the Crew jokester and WcDizer 3000, WcDonald’s very own mecha.

The bag comes alongside a new Savory Chili WcDonalds Sauce, which is designed to be paired with the rebranded 10-piece “WcNuggets,” a press release reveals.

The dip has a unique combination of ginger, garlic and soy with a slight heat from chili flakes, “packing an energetic blast of flavor in every bite”.

Designed by Japanese artist

McDonald’s worked with iconic Japanese�manga artist and illustrator�Acky Bright on the custom packaging which takes customers “deeper into the world of WcDonald’s with every meal”.

He specializes in manga-style illustrations, mainly of�kawakakkoii�(cute and cool) characters, his website reveals.

Bright is known for his detailed illustrations and bold brush strokes, and has created artwork for DC Comics, Hasbro and BMW.

“I had a great time partnering with McDonald’s to help make WcDonald’s a reality for manga fans who have a genuine love for the brand,” he said.

“From the details of the diverse Crew characters to the manga plot itself, I loved being able to use my artwork to bring to life the dynamic, vibrant world of WcDonald’s for people around the world.”

Fans love the packaging

Loads of McDonald’s stores have started using the bags early and people have been sharing videos of the cool packaging on TikTok.

One person wrote: “I’m vibing with this McDonald’s anime bag. Got that My Hero McAdemia style.”

“Who else loved the new McDonald’s bag?” said another.

A third person added: “I might have to go to McDonald’s once in my life for this.”

“That bag is actually so fire,” someone else wrote.

The packaging features a code which customers can scan to access weekly digital manga drops. McDonalds is also releasing four episodic short anime movies weekly from February 26�to�March 18.
