McDonald’s anime collaboration

McDonald’s announced the news on Tuesday (February 20) with a trailer which they shared on their official US Twitter/X profile.

“From the creators of the world’s most iconic animes… and the creators of the world’s most iconic fries,” it says.

Clips show a series of colorful characters going into battle and eating McDonald’s food, including fries and McNuggets.

“A new world emerges,” the teaser continues alongside a release date, February 26, so we haven’t got long to wait.

However, they didn’t reveal what the collaboration involves, only saying it will be available “at participating restaurants for a limited time”.

Fans are going wild

The teaser has gone viral on Twitter/X where everyone is going crazy.

One person wrote: “I never thought id live in a universe where McDonald’s gets an anime. This feels unreal.”

“A MCDONALDS ISEKAI WHAT,” said another.

A third person added: “Oh an McDonald’s anime this is going to be good.

“THIS IS SO COOL,” someone else wrote.

Another agreed: “Oh my god so epic.”

Japanese McDonald’s advert

The anime news comes after a commercial for McDonald’s in Japan went viral on social media in September 2023.

It was an anime-style cartoon which saw two parents and their child sitting at home eating a McDonald’s meal.

People across the US went crazy for the adorable advert, and it seems like the fast food chain saw the hype.

As the new anime collab was shared by McDonald’s US, it looks like it will only be available there. However, we won’t know for sure until February 26.
