McDonald’s has Friends-themed Happy Meals but Americans are disappointed�
McDonald’s has announced an adult meal with a range of collectible toys to celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of the most beloved American sitcoms.
October is turning out to be an exciting month for fans worldwide with brands announcing exciting collaborations. After Burger King’s The Addams Family-inspired menu, it’s time to pay tribute to Friends.
McDonald’s has Friends-themed happy meals
Multiple outlets have reported that McDonald’s has a Friends-themed adult happy meals in honor of the show’s 30th anniversary.
However, the special collaboration is only available in Spain at the time of this writing. The brand hasn’t revealed if it’s bringing the same to the U.S.
The limited-edition meal includes a choice of a Big Mac, a Quarter Pound, McRoyal Delux, CBO, or McChicken, alongside a drink and fries.
Food blog Snackalotor posted images of the Happy Meals packed in a Friends-inspired design alongside figurines inspired by the characters – Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler, and Joey.
The “Friends Box” also includes “Monica’s Marinara” sauce, specially created for the limited-edition meal.
What more? McDonald’s Spain’s Instagram account features one of their restaurants which has been transformed into Central Perk coffee shop from the show, including the iconic orange couch.
American fans couldn’t be more jealous
Considering Friends is an American show, although it’s popular worldwide, fans in the U.S. are utterly disappointed and jealous that they can’t enjoy the special Happy Meals.
When one fan wrote: “OMG! We need this in the States”, another added: “I would be eating 3 meals a day at McDonalds.”
When a fan suggested that McDonald’s should release the Friends-themed meals “worldwide”, another said: “�would definitely try to collect all 6 because obviously the collection has to be complete.”
One fan said: “Convinced McDonald’s hates America.” when another wrote: “Bro, I’m so disappointed. They need to bring these to the USA.”
