McDonald’s Chicken Big Mac is finally coming back to the US after limited test run
McDonald’s is finally bringing back the Chicken Big Mac in the US, a popular spin-off of the classic triple bun hamburger.
It proved to be hugely popular in the UK and Australia and Americans are ecstatic that they will get to try it soon – but there’s no release date yet.
Chicken Big Mac coming back to the US
The news has gone viral this week after food influencer Snackolator wrote on Instagram: “McDonald’s is *finally* bringing the Chicken Big Mac to the US this year and I am really curious to see what everyone thinks!”
However, this isn’t actually new news at all. It comes from a video that McDonald’s USA CEO Chris Kempczinski shared in March, in which he confirmed that the Chicken Big Mac is making a return in America.
“And then we have our Chicken Big Mac which has been on our menu before and is coming back to make a reappearance,” he said while taste-testing the original beef Big Mac and the new version.
By “been on our menu before,” he was seemingly referring to when the burger was briefly tested in the Miami area in late 2022.
Kempczinski confirmed that the Chicken Big Mac will “make a reappearance” at the fast food chain but didn’t say when. Months later, we still haven’t seen it on menus, so people are speculating the US launch must be soon. However, this hasn’t been confirmed by McDonald’s.
GRV Media and The Focus have reached out to the food chain for comment.
It’s not the only new item that’s got people talking this month either. McDonald’s just tested the Big Arch, which is rumored to be their biggest, most “satiating” burger ever and could be coming to menus nationwide if successful.
‘Cant wait for the US release’
The news has got people across the US really excited, with one person commenting: “Yup. Cant wait.”
Ohh yess sounds way better than a regular Big Mac,” said another.
A third person added: “Im in!!! Cant wait for the US release!!!”
“We had it two years ago in Miami, it was amazing,” someone else wrote.
Another said: “I dont eat McDonalds but I will be trying this.”
The menu item is like a regular Big Mac but instead of two 100% beef patties, it has two “tempura chicken patties”. It still features three buns and is finished with a slice of cheese, lettuce, onion and pickles and that unbeatable Big Mac sauce.
Kempczinski said he loves the crunchiness of the chicken that you don’t get with a regular Big Mac. It gives it a “little bit of a different mouth feel” while still pairing deliciously with their secret Big Mac sauce.
