A wife recalled her experience of banning a specific phrase within her marriage following a series of heated miscommunications.
We all know that words have power, and yet, as humans, we are sometimes naive to the effect they have on our nearest and dearest. In a bid to halt tensions, one wife chose to ban the highly divisive phrase, Its not that deep.

Its not that deep& to you!
In a recent episode of the Between Us Girlies podcast, one of the four hosts, Casey Corradin, opened up about her experience of banning Its not that deep” with her husband.
She explained: It is deep to the person who is bringing it up. Its like our rule.
Casey detailed how her partner would say Its not that deep when she brought up an issue. However, as she argued with passion, it was deep enough for her to bring it up at in the first place.
If you think it’s deep enough that youre bringing it up to your boyfriend, and they brush it off, thats a red flag, she continued as her co-host chimed in, Its gone from a phrase we almost use to help people to it becoming such a gaslighting charm.
If I am upset about something, it doesnt matter that its not deep to you, its deep to me, he added.
Health and wellbeing experts at Brook actually listed its not that deep in their red flags list, going as far as to say its a form of gaslighting.
For once, TikTok seems to be on the same page
In a rare social media moment, the rest of TikTok was seemingly backing the podcast hosts and their views on the controversial phrase.
