Life coach’s ‘happy person trick’ increases positivity by viewing brain like a garden

A life coach has shared a simple ‘happy person trick’ everyone can implement today to improve their lives.

We all want to be happy, but life’s stresses often get in the way and the negative thoughts start overtaking the positive ones. This tip will stop that from happening, allowing you to push aside the stress and be happier with an easy analogy.

Life coach’s ‘happy person trick’

Alleah Friedrichs, a manifestation life coach, calls the trick ‘brain gardening’, which involves viewing life’s stresses as weeds which need to be dug out.

Everything that is stopping you from being happy, such as being tired, overworked or not having enough money, lives in the brain.

“Think of your brain as a garden. Every crappy little thought you have is like a weed,” she said. “Weeds will grow rampant and will take over your entire garden.”

You need to move those negative thoughts aside to create room to plant flowers. Weeds = things that make you unhappy. Flowers = things that make you happy.

“We have to weed out those crappy little thoughts and plant some flowers. There’s no way around it. This is how you become happy,” Friedrichs continued.

How to remove the ‘weeds’

When you think about something that makes you unhappy, lots of neurons gather together in the brain and create a neural pathway.

If you’ve stressed about these things for a long time, the neural pathway will be wide, which makes it very easy to think about these thoughts.

To become happier, the life coach said you need to narrow the negative neural pathways and make the positive ones wider.

The first step to doing this is to make a list of all the things that you love, appreciate and make you happy in life.

Then, you intentionally start thinking about these things over and over again repeatedly to establish new neural pathways.

You need to ‘water the garden’

After removing the weeds and planting the seeds, you then have to water them so they grow into big beautiful flowers.

That means you can’t just think about the positive things once, you need to keep repeating them to bring them into existence.

This entire analogy is known as the law of attraction, a theory that positive thoughts bring positive things into a person’s life.

The philosophy says that you attract whatever you focus on, so thinking about negative things will bring negativity into your life.
