Krispy Kreme celebrates St. Patricks Day with green-themed limited edition treats

In celebration of St. Patricks Day, Krispy Kreme has launched four new flavors and a special limited edition doughnut.

Seasonal items at fast food restaurants are arguably far superior to the regular, and even secret menus. For proof, just look at the success of the McDonalds Shamrock Shake!

Green is good

St. Patricks Day is celebrated across the globe on March 17, with millions of Americans taking to the streets each year. To mark the special occasion, everyones favorite doughnut brand launched four new dishes alongside a free promotion from March 15 to 17.

The Luck of the Rainbow Doughnut is described as an original glazed doughnut dipped in green icing, rainbow explosion sprinkles blend, and a buttercream cloud. The second dish, the Shamrock Cookies ‘N Kreme made with Oreo Cookies, is an unglazed shell filled with cookies and cream and topped with St. Patrick’s fusion sprinkles.

Krispy Kreme is also releasing a Plaid Party Dougnut, which is an unglazed shell with chocolate and green icing. Finally, the Shooting Shamrock Doughnut is an original dipped in light green icing and topped with Shamrock sugar.

Alongside the new range, Krispy Kreme is also giving away free O’riginal Glazed Doughnuts to happy customers! This offer is only available from March 15 to 17.

”Luck is meant to be shared, and our colorful, fun, all-new St. Patricks Day doughnuts will make everyone feel like theyve found a pot of gold, said Dave Skena, global chief brand officer for Krispy Kreme.

Customers can expect to pick up the doughnuts from March 11 at Krispy Kreme stores and select retailers.

Customers are divided by the release

Though the world can never have too many doughnuts, customers are admittedly a little disappointed by the lazy release.

On Instagram, one person wrote: I think the flavors are boring (there’s nothing unique here), but they do look fun and festive.

They lost me at unglazed shell the glaze UNDER the frosting is one of the reasons I love KK, someone else wrote.
