KFC drops Fried Cookie Dough, but in only one location

KFC has a crunchy surprise for sweet tooths – a fried dessert with gooey chocolate filling in cookie dough. Americans wish it were available in their region thanks to favorable reviews.

The fast-food chain announced the sweet treat today, August 6. It’s already the talk of the town as fans are eager to taste the dessert made of the famous combo.

KFC fans in Australia are lucky as the new item is currently only available in one region. The restaurant hasn’t revealed plans to extend it to other places.

Several Australians quickly grabbed the new dessert and took to TikTok to share their honest reviews – the majority of the fans “love it”.

The self-explanatory dessert has become known for its rich chocolate and cookie dough fillings, covered in KFC’s signature crispy golden crust.

Fried Cookie Dough balls are available in different portions. A pack of three costs $2.95, says TikTok user Michael Jamie who thinks the “half-cooked cookie dough” and chocolate chips are “pretty bloody good.” They are available in packs of six too.

One user tempted to try the new dessert said: “I am running to the store right now”, while another KFC who already got to taste the Fried Cookie Dough rated it “8.9/10”.

It’s better with ‘cinnamon’ and ‘chocolate mousse’

Some fans find the dessert bland as the cookie dough and Kentucky frying overpowers the chocolate flavor. But, they realized it tasted “much better” with an additional flavor.

The most common suggestions are cinnamon topping or dipping the balls in KFC chocolate mousse before biting into it. While lucky Australians nit-pick about the flavors, people in the US and elsewhere wish to have a bite of the famous Fried Cookie Dough.

Fried Cookie Dough is available for a limited time from August 6 to September 2, 2024. Grab one before it’s gone!
