Kamala Harris’ packed schedule means she commits ultimate skincare crime
Vice President Kamala Harris, who could soon enough be the President of the United States, commits the ultimate skincare crime because of her packed work schedule.
Skincare might sound relatively simple, but there’s a reason why experts are constantly sharing their science-approved routines. It’s not an easy task to juggle multiple chemicals alongside your own life, so there’s no shame in Kamala’s fragrant skincare crime.

Kamala uses makeup wipes, something experts warn against
Kamala Harris is currently campaigning to be the next President of the United States, so it’s completely reasonable that her own routine might slip a little. Despite that, Kamala’s diet seems relatively healthy.
The same could not be said of her skincare routine though, and while she hasn’t shared an updated version for 2024, she did unpack her various steps during an interview with Cosmopolitan in 2019.
“Since I’ve been campaigning, I use the wipes to clean, but otherwise, I use the skin cleanser.” She said. “I have just a regular moisturizer and that’s it.”
In the same interview, Kamala also shared her confusion over serums, which is admittedly just a blanket term to describe skincare solutions that aren’t moisturizers, acids, toners, or cleansers.
“You know what I’m trying to figure out what is it like? Serums!” she said. “I’m just like, all of a sudden they become a thing. And then there are all kinds of them. Yeah, some of them say they’re a lotion but it clearly looks like a serum. Then they say like leave it on for a minute to absorb. It just feels like a lot of work.”
So why shouldn’t you use makeup wipes?
Makeup might be in their name but makeup wipes should rarely be used to cleanse your face of impurities, dirt, and cosmetics.
Back in April, Beauty influencer Susan Yara revealed why you shouldn’t be using makeup wipes to her flourishing TikTok following.
They have really strong preservatives. The preservatives are there so they dont get moldy or gross bacteria while they are sitting in their packets, she told her 264k followers. When you think about it, theyre just sitting in a packet completely wet. So when the cotton is sitting there wet, it has to have those preservatives to stop that bacteria growth.
Makeup wipes can also irritate the skin because you are required to scrub your skin to get the makeup off.
Makeup wipes almost never contain ingredients that can truly remove your makeup. Youre really just smearing it around,” Susan added. Because you have to wipe so hard, it can actually cause irritation on your skin again that can lead to hyperpigmentation.
