I do a ‘Hot Girl Walk’ every day and its the best thing for my mental health

One part of the day is always my favorite – my Hot Girl Walk. I do one every single day and its the best thing for my mental health.

The idea has been circling social media since 2021 and is one of the internet’s most popular health and wellness trends aimed particularly at women.

What is a ‘Hot Girl Walk’?

A Hot Girl Walk is exactly what the name suggests, a walk that makes you look and feel like a really hot woman. It was created by a TikTok user called Mia Lind who defines it as a four-mile walk that you do outdoors as often as you can.

She said that, while on the walk, you are only allowed to think about:

  1. Things youre grateful for
  2. How hot you are
  3. Your goals

“A hot girl walk is about building confidence so you know you can achieve anything you set your mind to,” Lind explained.

The trend quickly took over the internet, with girls across the world putting on cute athleisure outfits and going out walking. Its not about weight loss, its about feeling good from the inside out and being alone with your thoughts.

I do one every single day

I do a ‘Hot Girl Walk’ every day and have done for many years now. When it hits 12:30 pm, I log out of work for my lunch break, put on a jacket and head over to the park that’s a few minutes from my house.

Some people choose to listen to a podcast or music while walking, but the official rules state that you shouldnt. I don’t usually take any headphones out with me and use the time to think about my life and goals in silence.

Right now, it’s the middle of winter so my daily walks are a little chilly. However, I still make sure to do one every day despite the weather because, as well as being great for my fitness, it’s also vital for my mental health.

Great for my mental health

As a full-time remote worker, the daily walk gets me out of the house and allows me to clear my mind – and the mental health benefits of walking are scientifically proven.

A medically reviewed report by WebMD explains that walking “offers the physical benefits of exercise while also boosting your emotional well-being” and “helps ease symptoms related to chronic mental health conditions like anxiety and depression.”

Lind told The Focus she actually created the Hot Girl Walk to help her own mental health, saying: “The gratitude piece has been the most beneficial to my mental health as it allows me to get out of my head and my daily stressors, and think about all the things I have to be grateful for.”

“After a bit of gratitude and the endorphins are flowing, I can think positively about future plans and how to best achieve them,” she continued before saying she uses the walk to think about the best version of herself that she wants to become.

“As someone who takes HGW every day, Im sure you understand the feeling at the end of a good HGW and the feeling of accomplishment, power, and confidence, after a good HGW,” she concluded – and I certainly do!

Some of the other benefits I get from my daily walks include improved sleep, stress relief, better mood and more energy. This mood boost scientifically occurs because walking increases blood flow and circulation to the brain and body.
