I cleaned my ceiling fan using the pillowcase hack and I’m never going back
Ceiling fans are one of the trickiest things to clean, but it isn’t a task for me anymore thanks to a viral hack I found on TikTok.
Summer’s here, which means fans and air conditioners are a must to keep yourself cool and avoid health consequences like heat stroke. Unfortunately, fan blades accumulate dust easily, and getting rid of it isn’t as easy. But the cleaning technique I can’t stop bragging about only requires one item.
How to clean a ceiling fan with a pillowcase
Maintaining ceiling fans takes additional time and effort owing to their placement and design. The top of the blades is especially hard to clean.
Several of my attempts to clean it failed miserably. Either I couldn’t get rid of the dust to my satisfaction or the chore would end with me covered in dirt.
However, the hack discussed here eliminates the issues one could face while cleaning the fan blades, and all you need is a pillowcase.
Ensure the pillowcase is wet and stand on a stool or a ladder with a strong grip. Now cover one blade at a time with the pillowcase using the open end.
Once covered, place your hands on top and bottom of the blade and pull the pillowcase in your direction. Voila! Repeat it on every blade.
The result blew my mind
I love this hack for more than one reason. It saves a lot of time, the dust comes off easily and collects in the pillowcase without getting inside my eyes or falling on the floor.
Several TikTok users have given this hack a thumbs up after trying it and I believe it deserves all the credit for making cleaning ceiling fans easier.
However, you can’t take most hacks on social media at face value. I was most disappointed with the viral ‘Skittles Popcorn’. I strongly recommend not to try it.
There are more effective ones, such as the 5-5-5 method to peel hard-boiled eggs and the spoon hack to strain a tea bag that aren’t a waste of time.
