Human biologist reveals safest alcohol to drink

“We know now through published clinical studies that no amount of alcohol is good for you,” the podcaster explained.

However, he said if you must drink alcohol, the best ones to choose are “agave-based alcohols” which are tequilas.

This is because tequila converts into a poison called acetaldehydethe slowest, which is what makes us feel unwell.

All alcohol converts into this clear liquid inside the body which poisions your brain and makes your body acidic, he added.

This acid can “move the PH of your blood several tens of a point” and the change in PH causes negative effects.

The next best alcohols and what to avoid

He added that it’s best to skip the margaritas and go for a simple tequila on ice with water and a squeeze of fresh lime.

After that, the next safest alcohols to drink are clear spirits like vodka and gin which will also give you a better hangover.

Then you come to red wines and colored alcohols which includes dark spirits like whisky, brandy and rum.

At the bottom of the list are white wine, prosecco and other “high sugar wines” which are the worst for your health.

Tequila is made from a natural sugar called agave nectar, Casa Mexico explains, whereas other spirits can be distilled with refined sugars or processed corn syrup.

Quality tequila has no added preservatives or artificial colors and contains fewer calories than other spirits at just 98 calories in a 1.5 oz shot.
