How to know if youre boyfriend is So Babygirl as new slang divides the internet

Men across the world are now wondering if they fit the so babygirl vibe after celebrities encapsulating the term became the most thirsted-after people on the planet.

Its hard to keep up with the latest internet terms to describe your partner, after all, in just a few months weve had a golden retriever boyfriend, black cat energy, granola boy, and even white swan versus black swan.

Jacob Elordi and Harry Styles are so babygirl

The term, which The Guardian suggested was first coined in 2021, has been notable as of late following Jacob Elordis appearance on Saturday Night Live (SNL) alongside Rene Rapp.

Rene, you were so right, he is so babygirl, joked cast member Bowen Yang, to which the Mean Girls star replied, Hes so baby girl.

The actual definition of the term is still widely debated, with Rolling Stone suggesting it was a man who is very cutesy in a slightly submissive way.

It seems to be the complete antithesis of the Alpha term, which dude-bros have adopted in recent years to prove how masculine they are. Ironically, the animal expert who invented the term has since said his theory about the alpha dog was completely wrong. Anyway, back to baby girls.

In a recent interview with the New York Post, sexuality expert Kaamna Bhojwani explained that: Traditionally, highlighting feminine qualities in men has been a putdown, but this doesnt seem to be the case with babygirl, which almost has a celebratory quality.

I think the definition of what is masculine is changing, Adam Cohen-Aslatei, director of Tawkify matchmaking service, added. Some traditional norms are shifting. Masculinity today is not about being a tough guy but about being honest, respectful, protective, and emotionally expressive.

Other men, besides Elordi, who seemingly fit the vibe include Harry Styles, Tom Hiddleston, Pedro Pascal, Timothe Chalamet, and Tom Holland.

If youre hoping to find yourself a so babygirl man, then look for someone who is in touch with their feelings, comfortable with themself and around others, charismatic, and confident without being a so-called Alpha.

The term has divided men

To say that so babygirl has divided the internet would be putting it lightly. The term, though widely used across Instagram and TikTok, has angered some more traditional men who value what was considered attractive decades ago.

One person ranted on Twitter: Translation: the system whats to eradicate strong men and conquer humanity!

I havent been awake long enough to give a full assessment on why this is this biggest bunch of b*****t Ive read in a very long time, another person said.

A third scathed: I need one woman to confirm in the comments that they find feminized men attractive.
