How the USA compares to UK and Canada with average amount of intimate partners

A new survey revealed the country with the most sexual partners and unfortunately, its not the United States of America.

Sex and relationships differ massively between nations, largely due to major cultural, religious, and social differences.

Which country has the most sexual partners?

The new study comes straight from the World Population Review which revealed that Turkey was actually the most promiscuous nation in the world. Coming in with an average of 14.5 partners in their lifetime, the Turkish blew the rest of the world out of the water.

Sadly, the US was omitted from the rest of the top ten, suggesting Americans arent as sexually active as other parts of the world. After Turkey was Australia (13.3), New Zealand (13.2), Iceland (13), South Africa (12.5), Finland (12.4), Norway (12.1), Italy (11.8), Sweden (11.8), Switzerland (11.1).

Despite having the third largest population, which naturally gives them more options, the United States was placed at number 12 with an average of 10.7 partners.

However, the study did note that the average number differed greatly depending on the region of the US. For instance, Louisiana reported an average of nearly 16, compared with Utah which reported an average of 2.6. For context, 62% of Utah are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, suggesting culture and religion play a part.

The study further argued: The age at which someone loses his or her virginity can also impact the number of sexual partners he or she has. In the United States, people tend to lose their virginity at 17 years of age, on average.

Where are the averages the lowest

Though the US arose victorious against the likes of the UK, with an average of 9.8, there were countries with dramatically fewer sexual partners.

At the very bottom of the list was India with an average of 3, followed by China (3.1), Vietnam (3.2), Hong Kong (3.7), Indonesia (5.1), and Slovakia (5.4).
