Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly will be tying the knot as the pair revealed they got engaged on 11 January 2022. The singer and rapper presented the actress with a bespoke ring symbolising their unity – read on to find out how much it cost.
2021 was undoubtedly Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly’s year.
Establishing themselves as one of the hottest Hollywood couples alongside BFFs Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, the pair have broken the internet several times with their daring red carpet fashion.
The Jennifer’s Body actress made jaws drop with her barely there Thierry Mugler dress at the 2021 MTV VMAs, while Kelly’s rock career has gone from strength to strength having won Top Rock Artist at the 2021 Billboard Awards among other gongs.
It was only a matter of time before MGK proposed to Fox – I mean, she called him her “future baby daddy” – now the engagement has officially happened!
The couple revealed the news on their respective Instagrams and the ring is quite spectacular – as expected. Let’s break down how much that rock would have cost.

Congratulations, Mr and Mrs Baker
Two days later, he took to his Instagram to give fans a closer look at the one-of-a-kind engagement ring.
Fox, on the other hand, captioned her post with a brief review of their 20-month romance, writing: “We were oblivious to the pain we would face together in such a short, frenetic period of time. Unaware of the work and sacrifices the relationship would require from us but intoxicated off of the love. And the karma.
“And just as in every lifetime before this one, and as in every lifetime that will follow it, I said yes.”
She ended it with “…and then we drank each other’s blood.” Whether that part is actually true is unknown, but the pair have always been extremely dedicated to each other. He even wears drops of her blood in jewellery around his neck.

How much is Megan Fox’s ring?
With a pear-shaped emerald (Fox’s birthstone) and diamond (MGK’s birthstone), the design features two interlocking thorn bands created in 18 carat white gold and pavé set with colourless natural diamonds.
The emerald is an “untreated Columbian gem”, while the diamond is a “D-colour antique cut”, according to Webster.
Olivia Landau, gemologist and founder of The Clear Cut, told Page Six the “stones look to be around 2 to 2.5 carats each in size. Depending on the quality, a similar ring could range from $50,000 to $75,000”.
D-colour diamonds are regarded as the highest possible grade and, as reported by Estate Diamond Jewelry, 2 carat D-colour diamonds can cost about $80,000 as they’re so rare.
The term “untreated Columbian” emerald describes gems that haven’t been treated with oil – cedar oil is reportedly used to fill in cracks to treat internal fractures, enhance clarity and improve colour.
The oil, however, dries out so reapplication is necessary, which means no oil emeralds are rare. Estate diamond Jewelry estimates one carat of a no oil Columbian emerald is worth about $100,000.
So altogether we estimate Fox’s ring costs at least $200,000, including the white gold and diamond thorn band. That’s some bling. Congratulations on the engagement btw!
