Free drawing app launches to keep kids entertained during lock-down
Technology entrepreneur Joe Morgan has just launched BAM The Drawing App ahead of its scheduled summer release, to help keep children entertained during the nationwide coronavirus lock-down.
Morgan says, I have been working solidly to get the app launched as I know it will be interesting and useful to young people stuck at home during this period or to anyone who wants to create original digital artwork. For me, its about creativity made fast and fun.
Features include sending a drawing to friends and family via email, uploading work to a personal or public gallery, and forwarding artwork to app partners to have the image printed on a mug or T-shirt, for instance.
All buttons and functions are accompanied by an explanatory in-app video, which is only a tap and swipe away via the Swelp function. This intuitively designed user interface makes the onboarding process seamless and engaging.
Morgan, 39, works as a private maths and physics tutor. He says: I have always been a builder of things. Since childhood Ive enjoyed building models, tree houses, rafts and robots. I developed BAM The Drawing App as an environment where maths and physics diagrams were easy to create.
Original work
I see this app as a celebration of original work. You cant import photos or artwork from elsewhere. It is the canvas and its up to people if they want to create artwork to share with family and friends or even use it to make their own merchandise!
BAM The Drawing App is available from the Windows app store, with plans to create a Mac version in due course.
