Four new out-of-this-world flavors are coming to Jeni’s Ice Cream for the solar eclipse

Stargazers, astronomers and wannabe space explorers will be celebrating the first solar eclipse visible from North America since 2017 on April 8 and to mark the occasion, Jenis Ice Cream is launching a brand new range of out-of-this-world flavors.

The four vibrant flavors will be part of the Punk Stargonaut collection which is inspired by a fictional tale that claims Jenis Splendid Ice Creams gathered alien fruit from across the galaxy, brought it back to Earth and used it to create a host of cosmic new ice creams.

Four new flavors coming to Jenis Ice Cream

The ice cream varieties that Jenis will be launching – which are said to be familiar but layered in a way to make them new and exciting – include three all-new flavors as well as one returning fan-favorite.

  • Nebula Berry | This bright and bouncy ice cream is supposedly made from a berry found on an untamed and lush planet, although it tastes “tart like a blueberry and vibrant like a raspberry with a beautiful elderflower fragrance.
  • Cosmic Bloom | A tropical delicacy, this flavor is made from a Cosmic Bloom that is only found on the edge of the crater that forms a distant hot spring and is so rare it is traded as currency. Earthlings will find the flavor to taste citrusy like a mandarin, refreshing like a kiwi, and punchy like passion fruit.
  • Purple Star Born | Jenis first-ever grape ice cream. It is claimed that the fruit that makes this flavor was found in the bioluminescent bay of a meteor. This deep violet-colored ice cream tastes like Concord grape and puckery blackcurrants.
  • Supermoon | And finally, this flavor is created by harvesting moon dust that glitters in the sky during a supermoon. A returning fan-favorite, Supermoon tastes of candied violet and marshmallows.

Also joining the four flavors of the Punk Stargonaut collection is Space Dust, a fizzy popping candy topping supposedly from a distant galaxy that adds a playful pop to all of Jenis intergalactic new flavors.

When and where you can try the new flavors

Jenis Punk Stargonaut collection will go on sale on Jenis website at 12 noon ET on March 28, 2024, and will be available to ship nationwide.

Ice cream fans will also be able to find the flavors at Jenis chain of Scoop Shops across the country.

But youd better not hang around as the flavors will only be available while stocks last.

Also included in the mouth-watering online collection will be four free pairs of Jenis branded eclipse glasses so you can view the upcoming celestial event safely while also enjoying one of the new ice cream flavors.

Jenis will also be giving away pairs of eclipse glasses for free with any purchase from April 5, ahead of the eclipse itself on April 8.

On the day of the eclipse, the Space Dust topping can be added to any ice cream for free in one of Jeni’s Scoop Shops, while on other days, it can be added for $0.50.
