Dragon fruit farms in Southeast Asia turn into ‘glowing confetti’ at night

A social media user was surprised to see glowing confetti from his plane window only to find out they were dragon fruit farms.

Now and then some bizarre videos go viral on social media. While a few of them have explanations as to what is happening, others remain a mystery. TikTok user @brad..stewart1572 thought he had landed on something strange when he looked out of his window plane but was later fascinated to find out that the image was from dragon fruit farms.

Viral video of ‘glowing confetti’ explored

TikTok user Brad Stewart was traveling from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to Melbourne Australia. While everything was going smoothly, he suddenly noticed something stage outside his plane window.

Upon looking, he realized that the land looked as if it was filled with glowing confetti. This left him perplexed as it was anything he had ever seen before.

Confused Brad decided to post the video on TikTok in the hope of getting some answers. Luckily, the comment section did not disappoint as many noted that the strange clip was of dragon fruit farms.

Social media reacts to dragon fruit farm video

Like Brad, several other people were unaware of how the dragon fruit farms looked. Many took to the comment section to express their thoughts as one wrote: “How is this a Freaking Dragon Fruit Farm. It looks like confetti.” “Genuinely thought ur filming a concert floor full of confetti,” read one more comment.

“Map hasnt fully loaded yet,” one joked. “Post-it notes,” read one comment. “Its giant confetti plants& once the confetti is ready to pick they have to then cut it into the little pieces we see,” one more user tried to be humorous.

“You’re flying through a mine craft server, it’s lava,” wrote a user. “I didnt even read the caption and I thought it was confetti on the bar floor,” said a user. Luckily, we finally know what it is.

The farms glow in the dark because they are equipped with LED lights. These lights are essential for dragon fruit as they guarantee its growth.
