Doritos has a new secret flavor at Walmart – heres what customers say they taste like

Doritos has rolled out a brand new Flamin Hot mystery flavor that is only available in Walmart as part of the grocery store’s April Early Access event.

This is not the first time Doritos has launched a new flavor without actually revealing what it was inspired by. They made similar moves back in 2014 before later revealing that the three new flavors were Spicy Street Taco, Chocolate Chipotle Bacon, and Caribbean Citrus Jack.

New Doritos flavor on the block, what is it?

The new Doritos flavor is officially part of the Flamin Hot range, joining legendary products like Nacho cheese, lemon, and the recently released extra Flamin Hot. Though the brand has yet to reveal the latest flavor, we know they will be covered in the Flamin Hot dusting, made famous by Flamin Hot Cheetos.

The chips officially hit the shelves in Walmart on Monday as part of the company’s Early Access Event. During the promotion, Walmart+ members were afforded a full 24 hours to shop for limited-time exclusive products before the rest of the customers could even lay eyes on them. The Doritos become readily available today, but only at Walmart.

What flavor are the Flamin’ Hot Mystery Doritos?

Though Doritos is in no rush to reveal what the official name is, that hasn’t stopped hungry customers from gobbling them up and suggesting some names of their own.

On TikTok, Ariel (@ariel.snackandshopwithme) was lucky enough to get hold of a bag, which she opened for her 45k followers on the video-sharing platform. The first thing she noticed was how red the chips were compared to the iconic orange of Tangy Cheese.

“They smell like spicy ramen, is that what the mystery flavor is?” she questioned. “Here we go, let’s give it a try. It legitimately tastes like spicy ramen, oh my god. It tastes like the orange pack of ramen, the chicken flavor.”

In an on-air broadcast about the new chips, two journalists argued that they smelled like BBQ, before adding: “I don’t know what it is by I swear to you I would eat this entire bag.”

“I don’t know what the twist is but I’m getting a little sweetness to it,” she added.

Currently, top picks for the mystery flavor include spicy ramen, BBQ, spicy steak, picante chicken, Buffalo Chicken, chili and pineapple, and sweet chili. While most of the suggestions seem logical, we now play the waiting game until Doritos reveals the official flavor of their new chip.
