Dog and bunny play in adorable video
In the clip which has had more than five million views, a goldendoodle called Ace is running around the living room chasing a small black bunny called Bugz.
The bunny jumps up in retaliation and the roles reverse as he starts chasing the dog. This back-and-forth continues for more than 30 seconds.
They continue running around in circles excitedly, narrowly avoiding a laptop on the floor and a large coffee table in the center of the room.
The rabbit teases the goldendoodle by going into a crated area where it knows the dog doesn’t fit before reappearing again.
That’s not the first time they’ve played together either. The TikTok user has shared loads of videos of Ace and Bugz having fun.
“Ive never laughed so hard in my life. Who knew a bunny and a dog could be best friends?” the owner wrote in the caption.
‘Just proves that anyone can be friends’
People are in stitches at the super cute video, with one commenting: “That bunny throwing some hands!!!”
“I love when the bunny goes to the gated area the dog stops like bunny yells ‘home base!’,” said another.
A third person asked: “Does the dog think hes a bunny? Or does the bunny think hes a dog?”
“Just proves that anyone can be friends. Too cute,” another said.
Surprisingly, dogs and bunnies playing together doesn’t actually seem to be as rare as you’d think.
Someone else said that their bunny loves playing with their two dogs and “literally does fly kicks”.
Another revealed that’s how their rabbit and pups act too, and it’s always the bunny that starts the chasing.
“Bugz always starts it,” the TikTok user replied.
Rabbits are usually scared of dogs as they are natural predators, although they can form friendships if introduced and socialised at an early age, animal charity the RSPCA explains. A dog will need to have a low prey drive and must not be interested in chasing or killing small animals for them to get along.
However, rabbits are very delicate animals with small bones, so care must be taken when dogs are playing with them. Often, dogs will play too excitedly for bunnies, so it’s important to supervise them at all times when together.
