Doctor reveals three types of people who definitely shouldnt be drinking alcohol

A doctor in the UK has issued a warning to three groups of people who he thinks should not be drinking alcohol, suggesting it could be counterintuitive to their health journey.

Unless you’ve got the rare syndrome that makes you intoxicated, drinking alcohol is a choice. And if this doctor gets his way, you’ll be choosing to join Dry Daters and Dry January participants much earlier than expected.

A lot of people should not be consuming alcohol

Doctor Alex George is a Physician and former reality TV contestant who is most known for participating in the UK’s Love Island. While Alex (@dralexgeorge) was not lucky enough to find love, he did gain 987k followers and a platform to preach health-related information.

Taking to his flourishing TikTok account, Alex said that people with Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) should not be drinking alcohol. As reported by Forbes, around 366 million people have been diagnosed with the disorder.

“Drinking alcohol with ADHD is like pouring petrol on a fire,” he said. “It makes impulsivity worse, a lot of the symptoms we don’t want our heightened and it numbs all the good things.”

The next group of people was those suffering from mood issues or depression, which figures suggest is around 280 million people worldwide. The doctor said that alcohol is a depressant, which means it alters your brain if consistently drunk over a period of weeks and months.

Last, but certainly not least, were people who are struggling to meet their goals and aspirations.

Alex explained: “If you’re feeling stuck, alcohol can block us from being the person that we could be, from realizing our true potential. It’s not always the case, but if you’re sat here thinking I’m stuck, I can’t get the motivation, let alcohol go.”

Though the world might be aware of the glaring alcohol problem it has, a lot of TikTok users admitted to checking all three of the groups and still drinking.

“If I’m all 3 does it cancel out?” one person wrote, as another said, “Me watching while hungover vomiting.”

But not everyone was so stuck, as one person said: “Ive just over 2 years of not drinking alcohol, and even though life gets a bit boring in the isolation period its a million times better than hangxiety.”

“I stopped drink for a year, best thing I did, Ive decided now I didnt need to ‘go back to it’ so I will continue to not drink,” another said.
