When it comes to the many areas of scrubbing the grime from your house, there is a range of DIY cleaning hacks that aid you on your journey to dust-free and shiny surfaces.

Gone are the days when hot water and soap were the preferred cleaning choices, as you are now expected to buy countless products that serve only one purpose. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Thanks to the power of social media, cleaning-savvy people can share their often strange cleaning hacks with people assaulted with dust, grime, and other nasty contaminants.

If you’re someone with a stereotypical boy room, then you definitely need the assistance of these DIY cleaning hacks.

Tea and coffee stains on fabric are one of the most common household issues, with most people scrubbing the stain without realizing that it’s making it worse.

Thankfully, cleaning experts at The Rugs told us that beer could be the quickest solution to your stain issue.

While spilling beer on your carpet can cause havoc, the beverage also happens to have surprising stain-removal properties itself, they told us in March. Do you have coffee and tea stains ruining the look of your carpet? Well, a bottle of beer might be all you need to freshen up the surface.

You should see immediate results after gently working a drop of beer into the stain, the experts revealed.

Say goodbye to your stained mattress

Considering how dirty mattresses can get, it’s no surprise that they require deep cleaning every six months.

TikTok’s Tsanaga (@tsagana24) shared a mattress-cleaning hack on the video-sharing app that some commenters dubbed as “witchcraft.”

@tsagana24

Omg, after 2 children, my mattress was ready for the trash, but now it’s like new 🤩and I saved a lot of money👍👍👍 Definitely try this: 1. To have your bedroom sparkling, she suggested making a potion of boiling water, washing machine pods, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda. She then wrapped an old iron in a cloth and used it to buff the solution in.

For an extra fragrance kick, mix in your choice of essential oil.

You can whiten your bedsheets with lemon juice

With the cost of living crisis in full swing across the globe, it’s not surprising that you might be unable to purchase new bedsheets. As such, it’s recommended that you wash your sheets once a week to keep them fresh.

Luckily, there’s a simple trick using lemon juice that is able to revitalize drab and stained sheets.

Using lemon juice to whiten your bed sheets is one of my favorite tricks. Lemons are packed with citric acid, which breaks down stains and whitens fabrics without harsh chemicals. Its like a little citrus miracle! laundry expert Hyacinth Tucker told The Focus in May.

To have your sheets looking as good as new, soak your sheets in a concoction of lemon juice and water before washing.

Your saucepans can clean your sofa

For the cleaning liquid, mix hot water with bicarbonate of soda and Fairy Liquid, and then wrap your drenched rag across the lid. Don’t forget to put some muscle into it!

Your patio doesn’t have to remain stained

After a summer of serious grilling, your patio might resemble a chimney with scorch marks and greasy stains. But you’re in luck, because Georgina Read, Director at Paving Superstore, earlier shared a step-by-step guide to cleaning your patio.

Start by scraping off any excess grease with a scraper, while being cautious to not scratch the surface of your patio. A gentle scrub with washing-up liquid should remove staining, but if it persists, pull out the big guns in the form of baking soda. Be sure to rinse the nation after to remove remnants of your cleaning.

Making your white trainers as good as new

Paper towel is 🔑!! I have tried all of the cleaning hacks and this is the best most effective way to clean the dirtiest of white shoes with products you probably already have at home ✨

Your house is not the only thing in desperate need of a good cleaning. If you’ve got white trainers, it’s reasonable to assume that they aren’t as shiny and new as they once were. Instead of buying new ones, give Not The Worst Cleaner’s (@nottheworstcleaner) hack a try.

To have your white trainers sparkling, deconstruct them and give each part a good dousing with pre-laundry spray. Then let them soak in a mixture of room-temperature water and a cup of baking soda.

Once stewing in your cleaning solution for an hour, give the trainers a good scrub with a soft-bristled brush. But don’t stop there, as one more bath with stain remover and liquid soap is required.
