Customers think KFC has gone too far with bizarre take on Mexican classic

American KFC fans are begging the fast food giant to stop after they laid their eyes on a delicacy only available in Asia.

The world of foreign fast food is both mouth-watering and rather scary. Though no one can reasonably doubt the ingenuity of companies like Starbucks and McDonalds, some have been left wondering what happened to a good old-fashioned burger and chips.

Introducing the KFC Kentaco

Last year, KFC launched the Kentaco in both their Taiwan and Singapore stores. Its described as a fried chicken taco shell filled to the brim with mac and cheese, mayo, and mozzarella. Though there is arguably a lot going on with the Kentaco already, the American-based fast food company also decided to drench the taco shell in their signature hot and crispy recipe.

Though the dish obviously rests on the gimmick, reviews for the Kentaco leave little to be desired.

On Reddit, one person wrote: Just had it for early dinner, its messy to eat, at least the outlet I went to was generous on the cheese? There’s no flavor on the chicken tho feels like the regular tenders they tagged in their box meals, prolly a 4/10 for me compared to the other heart attacks that KFC has released.

In their review, Today Online also wrote: Not bad. We wouldve preferred it if the chicken were cooked using the more flavourful Original Recipe. But this is still worth a try cos its quite fun to eat.

The KFC dish has divided opinion

Recently, KFC America launched another dish, the Chizza, that had also been popular in Asian countries. This has led many hungry customers to speculate on future international updates.

On their Instagram page, Snackolator questioned if the Kentaco would work on US audiences. Sadly, it doesn’t look like there’s an appetite for the mish-mash of foods.

No need to be this extra KFC..we just want the potato wedges and twisters back, one person wrote.

A second person said: Sorry, but Im on a boycott from everything KFC for a very long time possibly forever.
