Customer at five-star resort shocked at the insane size of her baked potato in $71 meal
A customer at a 5* resort has gone viral online after showing the tiny size of the baked potato she was served after paying $71.
Food blogger Emily Jones posted the video on December 20 and has already gained over two million views on the food fiasco.
After choosing a baked potato as a side for her steak, Jones was served an unbelievably tiny potato, complete with toppings.
Served a tiny potato with a $71 meal
Jones said she ordered a steak meal and was offered two sides to choose. After selecting a baked potato, she expected a regular-sized one.
Instead, Jones was served up a potato in aluminum foil and topped with cheese&smaller than a gold ball. POV: You order a baked potato with your steak at a resort in the Maldives and this is what they bring you.
Jones wrote that the waitress didnt mention that the potato would be so small when she ordered it and added that the other side dishes also came tiny. Videos posted to her Tiktok showed a small portion of fries and a ramakin of mac-and-cheese.
The customer said she paid $71 for the steak, an appetizer, and a dessert.
Despite comments suggesting that sizings are small outside of the US, Jones confirmed in a later video that she has traveled to enough countries to know it is not. That serving size is not a normal serving size anywhere in the world. America or not, she explained.
Jones was entertained by the ordeal
The TikToker wasnt upset by the tiny potato and in fact shared her joy at the sizing in a video on her TikTok.
Jones explained that she found it cute and amusing when the waitress served the food as it was a feast in itself. I wasnt upset by the portion size. There was plenty of food altogether with the steak which was a huge portion, but I thought it was just really runny and cute and amusing, she said.
It was just sweet because of the way this lady came along with the potatoes and the sides. It was as if she was presenting us with this amazing feast and it turned out to be absolutely tiny.
