Costco has a delicious Canadian dish you can’t find in US food courts
Costco is always in the news thanks to some of its best finds and food courts known for their delicious menu. However, US fans are disappointed that they can’t get a bite of a popular potato item.
A few days ago, we told you about the Rosemary Parmesan Cheese bread – “tasty” but “expensive.” Before that, the retailer came under fire for changing the packaging of the $4.99 rotisserie chicken as customers expressed concerns about picking a smaller chicken. Now fans are craving the cheesy potato dish, which isn’t available in the US.

Costco Canada serves the traditional dish Poutine
It’s called Poutine – an item considered symbol of Canadian culture, made of French Fries, cheese curds and gravy. Costco food courts in Canada have the item on their menu.
The store’s restaurant also sells classic French Fries, which can’t be found in Costco US’ food court. Therefore, fans in the US are irked that they can’t have either of the potato items.
TikTok users are actively talking about Poutine, after a food blogger made a video comparing the menu at Costco US and Canada respectively. Poutine is among the items exclusive to Canada. Content creator @ARTYTIME shared the following menu.
Costco US:
- Hot Dog Combo
- Pizza
- Caesar Salad
- Turkey Sandwich
- Chicken Bake
- Iced Coffee
- Smoothies
- Cookie
Costco Canada:
- Hot Dog Combo
- Polish Dog
- Pizza
- French Fries
- Poutine
- Cookie
- Ice Cream Cone
- Caramel Sundae
Canadian dish is everybody’s favorite
Both Costco US and Canada offer several options in their menus, but people are only interested in Poutine, even more so after realizing only Canadians get to enjoy it. Many have opined in the comments that Costco Canada “wins” because of its traditional dish.
When one user commented: “I’d pick Costco Poutine over any other Poutine in Canada.”, another added: “The fries are just so special it helps take Canada over the top.”
“Costco Poutine is the best Poutine,” wrote one, when another added: “Canada wins only because of the Poutine.”
